1/10 AKA "EVO" 2.4" Tire and Wheel Range

This is a packet of (2) 1/10 SuperSoft "EVO" TYPO Rear Buggy Tires from AKA Racing pre-mounted on White EVO rear wheels.

The TYPO is a very low tread pattern that has been optimized for hard-packed indoor tracks. The carcass features the 1/8 scale EVO bead, combined with a refined tread profile.

These tires feature the industry standard AKA Red Closed Cell Inserts, and are intended for use with Team Associated, TLR/Losi and Kyosho 1/10 2WD and 4WD buggies that use a 12mm hex rear wheel.

Features:

• EVO Bead: The EVO bead design uses an 1/8 scale style L-shaped bead mount. This allows the user to glue the tire to the wheel more effectively, creating a much stronger glue bond. 
• EVO Wheel: The EVO wheel has been redesigned to be stronger and stiffer. The EVO wheel features pre-punched vent holes in the wheel, combined with the L-shape bead that makes tire mounting much easier by giving you a wider and easily accessible gluing surface to ensure a strong bond between the tire and wheel.
• Red Insert (Soft):The red insert is designed to soak up the big bumps with its fluted I.D. while still holding its shape in the turns to increase corner speed and consistency.
• Tread Performance: Each tire tread is computer designed and track tested by AKA engineers Gil Losi, Mark Pavidis and team drivers to ensure the best performance before each tire goes into production.
• Lifespan: The long life of the AKA tires is due to the collective decades of rubber compound development Gil Losi brings to the table. AKA, the pioneer of the closed cell insert, has developed an insert specifically for use with AKA EVO 1/10 scale buggy tires.

These inserts were designed to decrease the lateral deflection of the tire while at the same time increasing vertical impact absorption, to provide better handling in the bumps.

Using a soft foam or hollowing out the inner circumference leaves the car feeling squirmy with a less accurate feeling through the bumps, not to mention a loss of durability. Gil Losi and Mark Pavidis knew this compromise was not the solution. The solution they found was the addition of lateral grooves to the inner diameter. The lateral grooves allow the insert to flex vertically, absorbing large impacts while still maintaining the lateral stability and overall durability AKA inserts are known for, providing you with a no compromise, high performance foam insert. The result is a more predictable handling car, with no sacrifice in insert durability.
