Improved Suspension Geometry:
The 8IGHT-X Next Gen suspension geometry has been completely revamped making a car that is fast, nimble, and easy to drive. This includes a myriad of updates including kingpin inclination, trailing spindles, wider front pivot with less scrub radius, narrower rear pivot, longer rear shocks, and updated hub offset.

All New Suspension Arms:
Designed to accept stiffener plates that will allow racers to tune the flex of the suspension arm. Keep the plates off to provide more flex therefore creating more grip, add the plates to provide less flex and therefore creating less grip. The 8IGHT-X will come standard with molded plates, with optional carbon fiber plates sold separately.

Wide Chassis:
The 8IGHT-X features a more traditional “wide” style chassis that increases stability, balance and gives the buggy a more neutral feel. This also allows for the component’s to be spread out instead of cramped to together as with a narrow style chassis making maintenance a breeze.

Larger Pinion Bearing:
The 8IGHT-X features an over-sized pinion bearing in the front and rear of the buggy for increased strength and durability. This allows for a smoother, more reliable and hassle free driveline.

Cab Forward Style Body:
The body has been completely redesigned on the 8IGHT-x to incorporate the cab-forward styling which creates more downforce on the front of the body. This extra downforce improves forward traction and steering. The rear of the body has been designed to create maximum airflow for less drag, while a center fin keeps the buggy stable at speed.

Chassis Side Guards:
The chassis side guards have been redesigned to fit the wide chassis and new body with a super clean fit while offering maximum protection from dirt and debris.

Large Footprint Engine Mount:
The machined aluminium lightweight engine mount has been designed with a large footprint that not only reduces flex underneath the engine, but also eliminates chassis fatigue on high traction race surfaces. The large footprint mount also allows the engine to be removed from the buggy without removing the mount from the buggy or changing gear mesh.

Adjustable Castor Blocks:
Redesigned and fully adjustable machined aluminium 20 degree castor blocks come standard on the 8IGHT-X. The height of the castor block can be adjusted via aluminium spacers on the kingpin. Optional spindle ackerman arms will be sold separately to allow for even more adjustments and fine tuning.

Bleeder Shock Caps:
The 8IGHT-X comes standard with machined aluminium shock caps with threaded bleeder screws. Bleeder screws allow you to build and rebuild your shocks faster and easier while insuring you have the exact amount of oil in your shocks every time creating consistent rebound.

Chassis Balance:
The TLR engineers worked relentlessly to get the perfect balance on the 8IGHT-X by moving components to key locations on the chassis to provide the best driving feel and balance to the vehicle.

Steering Rack:
The 8IGHT-X steering rack has been redesigned to have a much cleaner, less cluttered linkage to the steering servo along with more ackerman adjustments. The improved design of the servo saver also eliminates bellcrank bind during high loads creating a much smoother, consistent steering feel.

Shock Towers:
The 8IGHT-X features machined 7075-T6 aluminium shock towers extra strength and durability. They have been completely redesigned to work with the 8IGHT-X’s new suspension geometry which feature updated camber link holes as well as a taller rear tower.

Better Diff Access:
The front and rear diff case has been designed to allow easier access to the differentials without removing the bulkheads from the vehicle allowing racers to make diff oil changes in half the time. The center diff can be accessed via a split center diff mount with the removal of only four screws. This allows the brake mechanics to stay intact and in perfect alignment.

Sway Bar System:
The 8IGHT-X boasts a sway bar system that has been completely revamped for a more precise, equalized and consistent feel. Each side of the sway bar features adjustable length links as well as collars to keep the sway bars centered in the roughest of conditions.

Equalized driveline:
To create an easier to drive, more consistent 4wd feel to the 8IGHT-X, the entire driveline has been redesigned to create a reduced driveline angle on both the front and rear drive shafts. This not only creates an equalized driveline, but also reduces wear on key driveline components.

Updated Radio Tray:
The 8IGHT-X eliminates the traditional one piece radio tray by designing an individual mount for the steering and throttle servos. The throttle servo mount is made of aluminium which adds extra rigidity to the servo creating a more precise, consistent brake feel all while keeping the servo off the chassis and eliminating heat issues. The updated front and rear mount also helps reduce the need for additional linkages.

Optimized Shocks:
The large-bore shocks have been completely optimized for greater precision and increased performance. They come standard with machined pistons and have been lightened to decrease the center of gravity and lower the weight of the car. The 8IGHT-X also includes both 3.5mm and 4.0mm shock shafts for extra strength and durability.

Metric Hardware:
The 8IGHT-X will move away from standard hardware that was common place on all previous 8IGHT’s. The new standard will be metric hardware and will be on par with all other manufactures. This will allow for easier screw replacements and upgrades.

Rear Mud Guards:
The 8IGHT-X comes standard with rear axle mud guards. These guards not only protect your rear axles and bearings from damage during rough and wet conditions, they also keep your axles running smooth and precise in all conditions.

Rear Shock Mounting (Front):
The 8IGHT X was designed so racers can mount the rear shocks on the front of the rear arm or on the front of the rear arm. By mounting the rear shocks to the front of the rear arm, the weight bias shifts forward and the arm flexes less, therefore providing less rear grip.

Rear Shock Mounting (Back):
The 8IGHT X was designed so racers can mount the rear shocks on the front of the rear arm or on the front of the rear arm. By mounting the rear shocks to the back of the arm, the weight bias is more rearward and allows the rear arm to flex more, therefore providing more rear grip.

  • Shaft Drive Platform: Taking a completely different approach to a TLR 4WD buggy, the R&D team developed an all-new platform from the ground up. Switching to the more reliable and versatile shaft drive design, the 22X-4 is much lighter and has far improved driving characteristics while also being significantly easier to build and maintain.


  • Fully Adjustable Suspension: Taking suspension tuning to a new level, the 22X-4 has adjustments for front and rear axle height, rear axle pin position, inner front and rear hinge pin position in all directions, nearly unlimited rear camber link positions, shock mounting positions, and much more. The 22X-4 can be dialed in for any surface, grip level, or driving style.


  • Premium Parts Included: The 22X-4 includes a healthy list of included premium parts: Aluminium Ball Stud Washers throughout, Aluminium Clamping Hexes, Adjustable Aluminium Suspension Mounts, Carbon Fiber Plates, Full Machined Shock Internals, TLR Low Frequency Springs, Aluminium Motor Mount, and Sway Bars.


  • 2.5 Milled Aluminium Chassis: Maximizing the flex characteristics for all surfaces, the 2.5mm thick chassis with heavy pocketing gives the correct amount of flex and rigidity for smooth corning, optimized balance, and bounce-free landings.


  • G3 12mm Big Bore Shocks: G3 12mm Big Bore Shocks: The G3 shocks give the 22X-4 the plush handling and consistent, leak-free bleed with some ease of use improvements. No more e-clips as the pistons are now secured by screws, new shock caps and shock bodies increase the spring collar height by 3mm to accommodate lower ride heights, new eyelets and spring cups provide -3mm, 0mm and +4mm spring cup off-sets and paired with all new eyelets will never pop off with the screw in feature. The new eyelets are also made in two lengths that allow racers to switch between normal and +3mm rear axle height without needing to change stroke or up-travel, and work with revised shock balls that finally slide into the front arms smoothly and easily.


  • All New Gear Diffs: Designed to be light and durable, the 22X-4 is designed with large volume bevel gear diffs for the ultimate in performance and durability. The kit includes all metal diff internals with hard anodized aluminium cross pins. Not to leave spec racers behind, composite diff internal gears as well as composite ring and pinion options are available separately.


  • Adjustable Inner Pivots: Included front and rear, adjustable inner pivots give multiple adjustments for anti-squat, kick up, toe, sweep, pivot width, and roll center. This gives the 22X-4 the window needed to get it dialed in for any driver, any track, and any surface.


  • Optimized Composites, Stiffezel: The balance and consistency of the 22X-4 can be tuned using different composite materials in key parts throughout the vehicle. The kit included the parts the race team prefers: Standard front and rear suspension arms along with soft mud guards.


  • Elastomer Battery Mounting: The 22X-4 borrows from the 22 5.0's versatile and easy to use battery hold down system. With a similar elastomer band, the battery strap hooks into the chassis front and rear allowing for different height batteries to be installed without hassle. Battery position is controlled with secured, easy to adjust battery stops both front and rear.


  • Floating Servo Mount: To keep the servo mount from affecting the chassis flex, the servo is mounted hanging above the chassis. The mount only secures to the chassis plate near the chassis centerline, then uses rigid 2.5mm carbon fiber to support the weight and leverage of the servo to optimize steering performance and chassis flex.


  • Adjustable Motor and Battery Position: The 22X-4 allows for the center slipper and motor mount assembly to be mounted in either front or rear positions, with 7mm of adjustment between them. The battery also has an additional 9mm of adjustment for solid changes to front/rear weight balance without the need to increase the static weight.


  • Fresh 22X-4 Body Design: Sleek and stylish, the 22X-4 body design is the perfect match to the chassis. It looks sleek and fast, is nice and low but provides excellent balance and stability - the best of all worlds.


  • Carbon Fiber Optimized: Carbon fiber is extremely light and very rigid, given its great strength to weight ratio. It is optimal for many parts of an r/c car, and the 22X-4 has it in all the key spots: Front Shock Tower, Rear Shock Tower, Center Diff Mount, Front Chassis Brace, Rear Chassis Brace, Front Steering Mount and Servo Mount.


  • All Metric Hardware: Using all metric hardware make it easy to find replacement screws, nuts and washers, and helps to limit the number to tools required in the toolbox.


  • TLR 6.5" Rear Wing: Pulled from ultra-durable 1.2mm polycarbonate, the TLR 6.5" rear wing isn't new for the 22X-4. Instead, this wing has proven itself as the longest lasting and most stable rear wing available for 1/10 buggies over the past several years - and it comes in this kit.


  • Easy Access Diffs: Designed to be user-friendly, the 22X-4 allows the front and rear diffs to both be removed by only removing four screws, and loosening one set screw. The diffs come out in less than a minute, and back in just as quickly.


  • Wheels Included: The 22X-4 includes a full set of fluorescent yellow wheels to get racers on the track quickly. The 22X-4 does include the new deeper off-set front wheels which provide improved hex engagement, and a stiffer wheel face for more consistent performance.


  • Built-In Motor Fan Mount: The prevalence of high grip tracks and the 13.5 4WD class have led to the need for many racers to run motor fans to keep temperatures in check. Rather than an aluminium mount, or double-sided tape, the 22X-4 includes a molded fan mount secured to the mudguard for easy and dependable fan mounting without any extra holes in the chassis.

The 22 5.0 has proven itself as the next evolution of the 22 2WD buggy platform. Now the 22 5.0 DC ELITE kit gives drivers a professional grade, full team-level kit all in one box!

Optimized for dirt and clay tracks, the ELITE kit features fully adjustable rear pivots, adjustable height rear hubs, carbon fiber option parts throughout, and all the aluminium parts have been changed to a sharp black with silver edges to pop against the hard anodized chassis and shock bodies.

Building on the improvements to the 22 5.0, the ELITE kit is significantly easier to drive while still giving the car more mid-corning steering with the revised steering geometry, smoother G3 shocks, and the optimized flex of the 2mm chassis plate.   • Carbon Fiber Parts Included: The overwhelming popular carbon fiber option and tuning parts for the 22 5.0's have been added into the kit. +2mm front and rear shock towers, electronics mounting plate, and a rear wing washer are now included in the kit!


  • Aluminium Option Parts Included: As the team has found many of the optional aluminium parts for the 22 5.0 to improve maintenance or performance, those are now included in the kit as well. Aluminium options included are the bell cranks, drag link, servo mount, outer front bearing inserts, rear camber block, C and D pivots, and aluminium nuts throughout.


  • Titanium Turnbuckles Included: Titanium turnbuckles have always been a premium upgrade for race vehicles, and there could not be a proper 22 5.0 DC ELITE kit without them. Included are titanium turnbuckles throughout the buggy to save weight and increase performance.


  • All New Rear Hubs and Inner Rear Pivots: The 22 5.0 DC ELITE includes Inner Rear Pivots with roll center, track width, anti-squat and toe adjustment paired with the Variable Height Axle (VHA) rear hubs which also give more roll center and axle height adjustment. This is the most adjustable rear suspension TLR has ever produced.


  • Revamped Steering Geometry: The 22 5.0 is the best driving 2WD buggy Team Losi Racing has ever created and the biggest improvement comes from the steering geometry. Increasing the length of the steering bell cranks and spindle arms, along with changes to the Ackermann angle give the 22 5.0 a significantly smoother steering feel, especially off-center and high speed, while increasing low-speed steering for tighter tracks and 180's.


  • Super Heavy Duty Slipper (SHDS): The slipper is optimized with all new slipper plates, slipper pads, spring, spur gears, and an all new top shaft. The new top shaft uses a sturdy M4 lock nut, the new slipper pads allow for spur gears sized 69T to 84T, reduced slipper pad area provides a more linear slip through the throttle application, and thicker slipper plates keep consistent pressure across the surface of the slipper pads.


  • G3 12mm Big Bore Shocks: The G3 shocks give the 22 5.0 the plush handling and consistent, leak-free bleed as the Gen II shocks, but with some long-anticipated ease of use improvements. No more e-clips as the pistons are now secured by screws, new shock caps and shock bodies increase the spring collar height by 3mm to accommodate lower ride heights, new eyelets and spring cups provide -3mm, 0mm and +4mm spring cup off-sets and paired with all new eyelets will never pop off with the screw in feature. The new eyelets are also made in two lengths that allow racers to switch between different heights, and work with revised shock balls that finally slide into the front arms smoothly and easily.


  • 2.0 Milled Aluminium Chassis:Maximizing the flex characteristics for all surfaces, the 2.0mm thick chassis give the right about of flex and rigidity for smooth corning, optimized balance, and bounce-free landings.

  • Fully Updated Ball Differential: Using all of the revised components from the 22 2.0 ball differential, the 22 5.0 diff will deliver super-smooth, long-lasting performance. Features include revised thrust washers, tungsten carbide diff and thrust balls, a one piece nut, and a self-centering diff gear.


  • 22 5.0 Body: Maintaining the excellent balance, grip, and stability of the 22 4.0 body, with a similar styling, the 22 5.0 body is pulled from 0.8mm PC plate for a lightweight body that still has fantastic durability. As with all TLR bodies, the 5.0 body is precut in the kit.


  • TLR Low Front Wing Included: With the higher speed, higher grip tracks of today, a front wing will increase steering in high speed turns and on power, while making the steering on entry smoother - the best of all worlds.

  • All Metric Hardware: Using all metric hardware make it easy to find replacement screws, nuts and washers, and helps to limit the number to tools required in the toolbox.


  • Diff Height Adjustment: The 22 4.0 included diff height adjustments including 0 and +3.5mm settings. The 22 5.0 SR includes 0 and +1mm heights to optimize bone angle and bone plunge for different grip levels.

  • Front Roll Center Adjustment: The 22 5.0 includes the standard Low Roll Center (LRC) front pivot with kick shim in the kit and offers the optional High Roll Center (HRC) front pivot separately. Also included in the kit is a 1mm thick kick shim which allows for incremental adjustments. Now, racers can run the Super Low Roll Center, Low Roll Center, Medium Roll Center, or High Roll Center, with a 3mm adjustment window.


  • Redesigned Front Camber Block: The front camber block adds a third camber link option between the tradition inside and outside holes. The position provides the best balance of steering and stability in many conditions, and allows the 22 5.0 to be more dialed-in on more different grip levels.


  • Redesigned Battery Hold Down: The 22 5.0 boasts the most versatile and easiest to use battery hold down system. The battery cradles key into the mud guards for five fixed, and easy to replicate, battery positions. The battery is then held down with elastomer straps on each end that can stretch to fit any height shorty battery and any weight plates under it. Best of all, the battery is out in no time flat and back in just as easily.


  • Optimized Composites, Stiffezel: The balance and consistency of the 22 5.0 can be tuned using different composite materials in key parts throughout the vehicle. The kit included the parts the race team prefers: Stiffezel front suspension arms, mud guards, and waterfall and soft rear suspension arms.


  • Ballast Tuning Options: Optional brass ballast weighs can be mounted under the battery, and under the laydown transmission idler. This makes it easy to tune the static weight and weight bias for changing track conditions. When running a higher static weight, the chassis will become more neutral and easier to drive on ultra-high-grip surfaces.


  • TLR 6.5" Rear Wing: Pulled from ultra-durable 1.2mm polycarbonate, the TLR 6.5" rear wing isn't new for the 5.0. Instead, this wing has proven itself as the longest lasting and most stable rear wing available for 1/10 2wd buggies over the past few years - and it comes in the kit.

The TLR 22 5.0 SR Spec Racer 1/10 2WD Electric Buggy Kit picks up where the 22 4.0 SR left off. Optimizing the 22 5.0 SR specifically for dirt and clay tracks in the spec racing classes, the setup window has been narrowed and performance maximized. The revised SR driveline with molded composite outdrives and aluminium saver rings, along with ultra-durable small diameter steel drive shafts, creates an ultralight driveline for maximum torque and speed.

Included is TLR's innovative and maximized Direct Drive System (DDS) with an ultra-light and short layshaft, aluminium spur gear hubs, and a 72T molded spur gear. Turning focus to the front suspension, the TLR team found a way to make the 22 5.0 significantly easier to drive while still giving the car more mid-corning steering.   • Improved SR Drivetrain: The innovative 22 SR differential with the aluminium diff assembly and composite outdrives provide the easiest to maintain and lightest diff system. For the 5.0 SR, we've replaced the composite outdrive rings with longer CNC machined aluminium rings to improve the outdrive durability for today's ultra-high grip clay tracks. Still focused on durability, the 22 5.0 SR has also moved to use the steel SR driveshafts, which have a smaller diameter than the stock steel driveshafts for weight savings, but they offer a substantial increase in durability over the aluminium SR driveshaft option.
  • Direct Drive System: Included is TLR's innovative and maximized Direct Drive System (DDS) with an ultra-light and short layshaft, aluminium spur gear hubs, and a 72T molded spur gear. By eliminating the slipper assembly, several grams of rotating mass are removed, and there is no power lost with the motor driving the spur but not the transmission. You will feel the extra snap and torque when exiting turns and accelerating over hard to clear jumps.

The battery cradles key into the mud guards for five fixed, and easy to replicate, battery positions. The battery is then held down with elastomer straps on each end that can stretch to fit any height shorty battery and any weight plates under it. Best of all, the battery is out in no time flat and back in just as easily.

    • Optimized Composites, Stiffezel: The balance and consistency of the 22 5.0 can be tuned using different composite materials in key parts throughout the vehicle. The kit included the parts the race team prefers: Stiffezel front suspension arms, soft rear suspension arms, standard mud guards, and standard waterfall.

    • Adjustable Rear Shock Location: The rear shock tower can be flipped for a forward or rearward bias. This means the G3 rear shocks can be mounted in front of the rear tower and suspension arm, or in the traditional location on the back of the arm. This is a popular tuning option for high-grip surfaces that increases forward weight bias, rear end stability, and landing ability.

    • Aluminium-Plate Rear Hub: The molded-composite hub base allows a bearing to be press fit without play and minimal un-sprung weight. An aluminium plate is secured to the hub with an M3 screw and ball stud which is vertically adjustable. Now the ball stud is supported by aluminium from pushing or pulling out, while still threading into composite so it won’t work loose.

  • Revamped Steering Geometry: The 22 5.0 is the best driving 2WD buggy Team Losi Racing has ever created and the biggest improvement comes from the steering geometry. Increasing the length of the steering bell cranks and spindle arms, along with changes to the Ackermann angle give the 22 5.0 a significantly smoother steering feel, especially off-center and high speed, while increasing low-speed steering for tighter tracks and 180's.


  • Super Heavy Duty Slipper (SHDS): The slipper is optimized with all new slipper plates, slipper pads, spring, spur gears, and an all new top shaft. The new top shaft uses a sturdy M4 lock nut, the new slipper pads allow for spur gears sized 69T to 84T, reduced slipper pad area provides a more linear slip through the throttle application, and thicker slipper plates keep consistent pressure across the surface of the slipper pads.


  • G3 12mm Big Bore Shocks: The G3 shocks have been completely revamped and improved. The main performance improvement comes from changing to a 3.0mm shock shaft diameter, the 22 5.0 feels "alive" around the track while also landing better with an improved compression/rebound balance. Other improvements include: Screw mounted pistons, redesigned molded shock caps, thinner shock collar which give 3mm more spring adjustment, locking eyelets and spring cups, -3mm, 0mm and 4mm spring cups, easy to install shock end balls, standard and +2mm length eyelets.


  • Option Parts Included: The 22 5.0 includes a healthy list of included option parts: Aluminium Ball Stud Washers throughout, Aluminium Clamping Hexes, Aluminium Front Axles, Aluminium Rear Camber Block, Carbide Diff Balls, Full Machined Shock Internals, TLR Low Frequency Springs, Adjustable Rear Toe Plate, and Anti-Squat Block.


  • 2.0 Milled Aluminium Chassis: Changing from the 2.5mm thick chassis plate, the 22 5.0 has been improved with a 2.0mm thick chassis plate.   • All New Gear Differential: The all-new traditional style gear differential is more durable and lighter with molded composite gears and cross pins, perfect for mod and spec racing. It also holds more fluid, with larger gear surfaces for a more consistent diff through a run and over several track days.


  • Lightweight 22 5.0 Body: Maintaining the excellent balance, grip, and stability of the 22 4.0 body with a similar styling, the 22 5.0 Lightweight (LW) body is pulled from 0.7mm PC plate to keep the center of gravity (CG) low, and the static weight even lower. As with all TLR bodies, the 5.0 body will be precut in the kit.
