REDS Racing Quattro Clutch (1/8 Off-road)
The 4-shoe clutch is easy to adjust and thanks to a rotating front plate there's no need to disassemble it or to change springs. When you do, you don't need any tool, just your hands. You can change the spring preload from L to H position or vice versa with three simple steps: pull out the front plate, rotate it counter-clockwise until you centre the desired hole with the pin and push it in to the stop position.
The clutch system is 100% made in Italy and comes pre assembled and tested to ensure the best performance and reliability. It is available both with 32mm and 34mm diameter to make it suitable for any type of car (Buggy and Truggy). 32mm for Kyosho, JQ, Mugen, Team Associated, Hot Bodies, Serpent, Xray. 34mm for Team Losi, Agama. The original REDS bell can be used with all the cars listed above, except for Team Losi.
Hybrid Shoes
The clutch system is made up of a hybrid 4 shoes system: two 7075 aluminium shoes and two carbon shoes which is suitable for every kind of track.
Flywheel
The lightweight flywheel has a low inertia to rotation to maximize engine power.
Vented Bell
The REDS high performance vented clutch bell (not included) is manufactured with a special hardened carbon steel and high accuracy CNC machining. These features assure longer life to clutch bells, shoes and ball bearings.
Clutch Setup Recommendations:
- 4x Carbon, L Setting, Buggy: Used on very loose tracks where little punch is needed
- 2x Carbon 2x Alum, M Setting, Buggy: Good all around setup. Best compromise for punch and mileage
- 1x Carbon 3x Alum, M Setting, Buggy: Increased punch with slightly less mileage
- 2x Carbon 2x Alum, H Setting, Buggy: Increased punch, good for jumps right out of turn, with average mileage.
- 1x Carbon 3x Alum, H Setting, Buggy: Very aggressive with great punch
- 2x Carbon 2x Alum, XH* Setting, Truggy: Good all around setup. Best compromise for punch and mileage
- 2x Carbon 2x Alum, XXH* Setting, Truggy: Very aggressive with great punch
*NOTE: XH (MUQU0033) and XXH (MUQU0034) front plates sold separately.
A special vented design also guarantees lower temperatures and more consistent shoe engagement for a longer life of both bell and clutch shoes. The Durabell is suitable for Kyosho, Mugen, JQ, Associated, Hot Bodies, Serpent and XRAY.

This is a packet of (2) optional Losi 5x10mm Heavy Duty Clutch Bearings from Team Losi Racing intended for use with their 1/8 scale 8ight buggy and truggy.

The Revolution Ceramic Series bearings are a low friction bearing with several options to help satisfy anyone's desire. Instead of the steel balls they use silicone nitride ceramic balls (Si3N4).
What makes this bearing unique is that it has a rubber seal on one side while having a metal shield on the other. Rubber seals are great protectors against dirt but the price is that they offer a little more friction due to the tighter seal. Now the performance of a metal shield is excellent but allows dirt to get in easily. So with the Revolution series, you run the rubber side towards the outside and the metal towards the inside. You get the protection of the rubber but the added performance by having one less rubber seal.
But you don't have to stop there, if you are truly performance oriented and want the least amount of friction then you're in luck. You can quickly pop off the rubber seal with an X-acto and place the metal shield facing outward in your hubs. This is the best performance you could attain while maintaining some protection from dirt.

A ceramic can spin at higher rpms with less drag and the life of the bearing is far greater than a steel bearing but in our industry we suggest that you maintain them with oil or grease every half-gallon to a gallon for the longest life possible.
Another benefit to ceramics is the weight difference in the balls allowing for less rotating mass. These bearings also come with our newly developed high speed and temp oil instead of grease. So you no longer have to remove the grease. Just put them in and run.
